I'm currently a mortgage advisor with an active CPA license. This gives me unique advantages in helping self-employed clients qualify for mortgages since they are underwritten using tax returns instead of W2s and paystubs. I'm acutely aware of the pain and annoyance mortgage letter requests cause, so I'm on a personal crusade to help tax preparers avoid them and bridge the gap between mortgage underwriters and tax preparers.
Mortgages and real estate are the best widely-available tool to help people build and protect wealth. The best part of my job is helping people buy properties as personal residences and investments. I have some proprietary tools to help clients visualize and compare returns on investment properties, even showing them how a property compares against more common investment vehicles, including mutual funds, stock portfolios, etc. My understanding of the many tax benefits of owning real estate assets are also helpful in advising clients with their real estate strategies.
I have advanced capabilities in using Microsoft Office Suite, and I have personally instructed advanced Excel courses qualifying for CPA CPE credits.
